Baby Boomers Impact on Home Based Business
 
Baby boomers today are between 35 and 53 years old. They are in their peak earning years and the oldest of them has reached the prime age for travel. Baby boomers, however, are significantly different travel consumers than their parents and experts expect them to maintain those differences as they age.

This is why the travel industry is the largest industry in the world. Been-there-done-that is one reason adventure travel appeals to baby boomers. Adventure travel is a physically challenging outdoor activity that a price tag cannot be placed on, as baby boomers are interested in bettering themselves. Intellectually stimulating travel is their motto.

If you had to define Baby Boomers, the definition should be "Adult teenagers." Baby boomers will always try to act much younger than their chronological age. As a result, baby boomers still want to fulfill the dreams they had at 25 - even if their bodies are not always willing or able. Many may suggest that unrestricted travel behavior of the baby boomers is directly related to something defined as “mid-life crisis.”

It's not surprising that adult teenagers put a premium on having a good time. Although fun, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, there is no surprise that stimulation and the cultural/social experience make travel fun for baby boomers. Part of the enjoyment of the experience is its uniqueness -that is part of “the rush."

Finally, baby boomers desire to have fun and make money, which is driving some career changers into the travel industry. Easy gratification breeds a desire for still more and quicker rewards. Consequently, baby boomers don't wait to take trips. If they don't have the money, they just use plastic (Credit Cards). Baby boomers’ instant-gratification lifestyle means they don't book travel as far in advance; when they are ready to book, they book NOW!
